Call for Papers [DE]

The bi-annual symposium "Communication in Distributed Systems" (KiVS) will be held from February 26th to March 2nd at the University of Bern, Switzerland. This will be the first time in 29 years that the KiVS is held outside of Germany.

The symposium starts with visits at well-known research institutes (CERN Geneva, IBM Zurich and Swisscom Innovations Bern). The focus of the KiVS event is the main conference, for which original scientific contributions in the below mentioned research areas are solicited.
Full papers can have a length of up to 12 pages (short papers can have up to 6 pages) and need to follow the Springer "Informatik Aktuell" template. Furthermore, papers from industry and practice describing current projects, technologies, and trends are highly appreciated. These contributions should be extended abstracts of 1-2 pages. All contributions of these three categories must comply with the format specification on the KiVS web site http://kivs07.unibe.ch. They will be reviewed by the Technical Program Committee, which will decide about acceptance for publication.

In addition to the special focus topic of "Peer-to-Peer Systems", five collocated workshops on special topics in the area of communication and distributed systems will be organized:

Submitted papers must be written in English or in German and must not have been submitted or published elsewhere. The selected conference and workshop papers will be published in one of several proceedings at Springer-Verlag and VDE-Verlag.
